Much of the operations of the Humane Society of Baltimore County is dedicated to running an open, active animal center that is commited to the preservation of life.  In fact, our animal center serves a large population of pets and people each year by providing sheltering and adoption services.  We even have limited educational programs and activities designed to promote proper care and treatment of all animals.

How we help pets & people

You've probably guessed by now that we work diligently to place pets in loving homes.  Let's face it, few things are more satisfying than seeing a pet embrace a new person or family and become part of their life.

But not everyone comes to us to adopt.  Sometimes, things don't always work out and people need bring their pet into us so that we may properly care for it.  It's not a bad thing... and in a perfect world, it wouldn't happen.  We understand.
